I am positive that Alex slept with the escort while hewas seeing Danny. I don’t see this as being a nail in the coffin of Danny andAlex. Here is why…

我很确定Alex在还和Danny在一起的时候，和那个应召男发生了关系。但我并不把这件事当作Danny和Alex爱情之间的致命一击，以下是我的原因：

 

First off, we have no idea if they had agreed to beexclusive. It is possible that Danny wanted to spend the rest of his life withAlex but within eight months had not asked him to be exclusive. Danny has had alot of sex. He’s explored the world. He sees that Alex may want to do that,maybe worries that Alex will feel he’s missed out. 

首先，我们并不知道，他们之间是否是那种“一对一”的专一式恋爱。有可能Danny是想要与Alex共度余生的，但在这短短的八个月里，他并没有要求Alex要对他专情一意。Danny曾经有过很多性经历，他已经感知探索过了这个世界，他认为Alex也许也会想要这样的经历，也许Danny担心Alex会觉得自己的人生有所未感，而心怀遗憾（如果只和Danny在一起过）。

Theescort is designed to seduce Alex - it’s not that Alex is seeking someone out,he’s facing a sophisticated level of manipulation, he’s experienced one of themost pleasurable things that can happen to a person for the first time, theescort is willing and ready - Alex is primed to step outside his relationshipwith Danny.

I think Alex has already slept with the escort when hetells Danny that he doesn’t need to see other people. Maybe THAT is theconversation about exclusivity. Maybe Danny is saying that they don’t have tobe. But Alex is saying it’s what he wants. How does he know that? He has noromantic notions of soul mates. He’s a logical kind of person. He knows itbecause he has experienced someone else. I think Alex’s personality is criticalto understand in that conversation and that the conversation must be held incontrast to him and Danny at the beach fire. There is something that happens tocause Alex to realize that they are not just good together. They are0000001.

Sometimes you make a mistake, you make a cut, and inmaking that cut, you realize what you really want. It magnifies what isimportant to you. It brings clarity. Then you get to live with the fact thatyou have sorted out your heart by doing something that brings someone elsepain. That is Alex. He is logic. But he is heart too. His logic makes him tickbut his heart is the thing that drives him forward. Sleeping with someone elseremoves the logic for him and brings forth the heart.

Here is what I think the timeline is. Beach fire. Alexscoffs at the concept at the concept of there being one person in the world foreveryone. Sleeps with escort. Doesn’t return escort’s calls. Lies to Dannyabout what he’s thinking about. (or he lies to Danny then doesn’t return theescorts calls) Tells Danny that he knows Danny is the one.

Is it bad that Alex might have needed that moment ofdeception to realize that they are more than just good together? I don’t thinkso. Danny doesn’t think so. Knowing that Alex slept with someone else doesn’tdestroy the love Danny feels for him. It doesn’t make that love a lie.

The title of the episode. THE TITLE. “I Know” Alex knows.He finds out through his experience. He knows Danny is the one. He knows thatDanny knows too. That is why he does the code. 

这一集的标题，“我知道了”。说的是Alex知道了。他从他的这次经历中了解了，他知道Danny就是他的那个唯一，他知道Danny其实也是懂他的。这就是他为什么把密码设成000001的理由。
